Walter Christopher “Chris” Michael, age 47, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2017. Born October 3, 1969 in Winchester, Va., he was the son of Walter A. Michael and Mary Margaret Michael, both of Moorefield, W.Va.
A 1988 graduate of Moorefield High School, Chris was a devoted son and loyal friend. After working at Hawse Shop-N-Save for 31 years, Chris knew everyone in three counties. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved going to races with his mother at Martinsville Speedway. Chris was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when the Mountaineers were playing. He faithfully attended Rig Assembly of God Church.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rob and Evelyn (Weese) Crites and Henry “Al” and Myrtle Michael. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a half-brother.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Rig Assembly of God Church in Rig, W.Va. with Pastor Brad Taylor and Pastor Alton Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Scott Family Cemetery in Durgon, W.Va.
