Mernie Marie Shultz, age 88 of South Elm Street, Moorefield, W.Va., passed away Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, Va. Born on April 11, 1929 in Flintstone, MD, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Dolly, Sr. and Nida Mae (Dolly) Dolly. Her husband, Roy Fisher Shultz preceded her in death in January 1984. A sister and three brothers also preceded her in death. Mernie enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, puzzle books and researching her family’s genealogy.
Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Sue Evans of Moorefield, W.Va.; two sons, Charles F. Shultz & Chester F. Shultz of Moorefield, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Ashley M. Evans of Moorefield, W.Va.; two brothers, Ralph Dolly of Medley, W.Va. and George Dolly, Jr. of New Creek, W.Va.; seven sisters, Mary & Gorman Ritchie of Dillsburg, Pa., Betty Dove of Ft. Allen, La., Ruby McConnell of Altoona, Pa., Joy Davy of Romney, W.Va., Jo Ann & Raymond Rohrbaugh of Burlington, W.Va., Kathy Dent of Old Fields, W.Va. and Ruth & Ted Funkhouser of Baker, W.Va. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Russell &
Lucy Webster officiating. Interment was at the Old Pine Church Cemetery, Purgitsville, W.Va.
