Ann Joan Burdick, age 85, of Moorefield, W.Va. passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at her home. Born on December 10, 1930 in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank Strange Johnson and Edythe Verna Cochran Johnson. Mrs. Burdick was a member of Duffey United Methodist Church in Moorefield and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Verne George and an infant brother. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Ace Burdick; two daughters, Shirley Collins (Francis) of Falls Church, Va. and Susan Zimmerman (Leslie) of Fairfax, Va.; four sons, David Burdick (Zeny) of Kingsland, Ga., Darold Burdick (Colleen) of Woodbridge, Va., Dennis Burdick (Donna) of Culpeper, Va., and Donald Burdick (Gerry) of Millsboro, Del.; one sister, Dorothy Jeanne Wilson of Grantsville, W.Va.; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for the viewing from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Anderson, Pastor Wade Sirk, and Pastor Buz Menhart officiating. Burial will follow at Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield with military honors presented by the U.S. Navy.
