Donald Jefferson Duck Kerr, Sr., 78, of Wardensville, W.Va. died on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home.
Duck was born on June 27, 1938 in Wardensville, W.Va., a son of the late Don D. Chuck and Vergie Heishman Kerr. He worked as sheet metal mechanic for Orndorff & Spaid Inc. in Beltsville, Md. for 25 years. After retiring from roofing, he worked with his son for 28 years at Kerr’s in Wardensville, W.Va.. He was a member of Chrest Hill Community Church in Wardensville, W.Va.. He enjoyed working and being with people.
Duck married Peggy Kaufman Kerr on September 6, 1957 in Hagerstown, MD.
Surviving with his wife of 59 years are two sons: Jeff Kerr and his wife Anita of Wardensville, W.Va.; Marcus A. Kerr and his wife Tricia of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two daughters: Sharen A. Wilkins and her husband Nelson; Lora J. Foltz and her husband Kevin both of Mathias, W.Va.; a brother: Charles Kerr of Berryville, VA; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a brother: Robert Kerr and a sister: Nadine Anderson.
A funeral service was held at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, W.Va. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 4 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Milford and Carolyn Lyndaker. Graveside service were held in the Wardensville Cemetery on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2 p.m.
