Janet S. Orndorff, 76, of Wardensville, W.Va. died on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Janet was born on September 12, 1940 in Wardensville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joe & Daisy Keckley Sine. She was a 1958 graduate of Wardensville High School and a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Capon Springs, W.Va. where she previously taught Sunday school. Janet loved cooking, baking, gardening, watching various animals play and most of all caring for her children & grandchildren.
Janet married William ‘Billy’ Orndorff on September 28, 1957 in Gainesboro, Va.
Surviving with her husband of nearly 60 years are two sons: Greg Orndorff and his wife Vicky of High View, W.Va.; Joe Orndorff of Wardensville, W.Va.; two daughters: Janna Groves and her husband Dorman of Front Royal, Va. : Tina Fitzwater and her husband Rick of Rio, W.Va. ; a brother: Charles Sine; four sisters: Peggy Snyder, Jean DeHaven, Judy Shade & Martha Smith; her grandsons: Greg, Richard, Casey, Derrick & Jesse; her granddaughters: Ashley, Tiffany, Candi & Courtney: a step-grandson: Justin; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a grandson: Brian Orndorff; step-grandson: Cody Brannon; brothers: Leonard, Winfred and Virgil Sine and a sister: Mary Sine.
A funeral service was held at the Faith Mission Church 30 Carpenters Ave, Wardensville, W.Va. on Saturday, February 11 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Greg Wilkins officiating. Interment followed in the Greenfield Cemetery.
