Brayden James Schell, age 25 of Old Fields, W.Va., formerly of Petersburg, W.Va., passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 5, 1991 in Petersburg, the son of Debra (Clark) Layton of Old Fields, W.Va.; Step-Father, John Layton of Petersburg; Father, Kevin Schell of Cabins, W.Va.
Brayden had attended both Petersburg and Moorefield High Schools. He graduated from the W.Va. Mountaineer Challenge Academy at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, W.Va. Mr. Schell attended the First Baptist Church in Petersburg and had worked for PSSI in the sanitation department.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Schell is survived by: two brothers, Cody Layton of Fairmont, W.Va. and Casey Layton of Morgantown, W.Va.; Paternal Grandparents, Donna Schell of Cabins, WV and Elma Gail Layton of New Creek, W.Va. and Maternal Grandparents, Roger and Bessie Dean of Purgitsville, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Wayne Clark.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Basagic Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating.
