Norma Jean Funk, age 69 of Joy Lane, Petersburg, W.Va., passed away April 5, 2017 at her residence. Born on September 23, 1947 in Hardy Co., W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Margaret Atilee Dean Funk See and Alister Rumsey See and Otis Sylvester Funk. A daughter, Rebecca Crawford and two grandchildren, Renee Roberts and Dennis Stewart, III preceded her in death.
Norma Jean was known as a “ball of fire” to those who worked with her but her family remembers her “beading‚” playing video games on the computer, her weekend travel excursions and her love of “all day” shopping. She enjoyed going to her church, Petersburg First Baptist, and would fuss at her family if they did not attend with her.
Surviving is a son, Timothy Adam Funk, of Madison Co., Ala., two daughters, Melinda Stewart of Petersburg, WV and Peggy Lynn Long of Scottsboro, Ala.; three brothers, Roger Dean of Old Fields, W.Va., Larry O. Funk and Robert “Jack” Funk of Purgitsville, W.Va.; a sister, Donna C. Pittington of Moorefield, WV; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St. with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment was held at Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, W.Va.
