William Odell Powers, Sr., 75, of Inwood, West Virginia, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Powers was born April 22, 1942 in Glen Fork, W.Va., the son of the late Ancel and Blanch (Day) Powers. Bill was a graduate of Glen Fork High School, a U. S. Air Force Veteran and enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar and banjo. He was employed as an electrician for Woodward and Lothrop retiring after 22 years of service.
Mr. Powers married Freda Fay (Harmon) Powers on January 17, 1978, in Upper Marlboro.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Geckler (Kirk); two sons, Clay Powers and William Powers, Jr. (Tammy); seven grandchildren, Kymberly, Rebecca, Casey, Joseph, Rachel, Caroline and Jaine; four great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Tilley; brothers David Powers, Ray Powers (Susie), Larry Powers (Bonnie) and Harry Powers (Jeannie).
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 2 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel at 12:00 p.m with Chaplain Douglas Knupp officiating. Interment will take place at Shenandoah Memorial Park Cemetery in Winchester, Va.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be sent to The Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Ln, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
