James Kirk “Jimmy” Armentrout, age 77, of Moorefield, W.Va., passed this life on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
Born on April 30, 1939 in Rockingham County, Va., he was the son of the late Kirk James Armentrout and Janie Crites Armentrout.
Jimmy retired from American Woodmark Corporation after over 22 years of service and later worked for Region VIII Solid Waste Authority. He was a member of the Harpers Chapel Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Bergdoll Armentrout; one daughter, Penny Sue Zirk and husband, Douglas, of Moorefield, W.Va.; six sisters, Helen Lewis of Hyndman, Pa., Arlene Stump and Gay Ketterman, both of Moorefield, W.Va., Charlotte Ketterman of Fisher, W.Va., Doris Stanley of Fla., and Jo Ann Varner of Richland, N.C.; two brothers, Stanley Armentrout of Rig, W.Va. and Thomas J. Armentrout of Old Fields, W.Va.; one grandson, Douglas Jared “DJ” Zirk; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A funeral service was conducted on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Elmore Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Armentrout and Rev. Johnnie Stump officiating. Burial followed at Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, W.Va.

Arrangements were under the direction of Elmore Funeral Home.
