Hugh Gladston “Buddy” Wilkins

Hugh Gladston “Buddy” Wilkins, 91 of Baker, W.Va. passed away on Friday November 25, 2016 at the V.A. Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born on December 1, 1924 in Lost River, W.Va., he was the son of the late Herbert Wilkins and Bell (Teets) Wilkins.

He was a farmer, member of the New Dale Church of the Brethren, an avid hunter and a WWII army veteran where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart of the European Campaign.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife Katherine (Helmick) Wilkins, two brothers, Wade Wilkins, Balf Wilkins, a sister, Olivene Shelton and a half-brother, Herbert Wilkins Jr.

Surviving is his companion of 35 years, Donna Louise Link of Baker, and a half-brother, Charles Wilkins of Baker.

Funeral services were held on Monday November 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in McKee Funeral Home Chapel Baker, W.Va. with Pastor Dan Sterns officiating. Interment will follow in New Dale Cemetery at Baker, W.Va.

All arrangements are under the direction of McKee Funeral Home, Baker, W.Va.
