Kenneth Anthony Haid, Jr., of Fayetteville, transitioned out of this life January 16, 2017 just short of fifty nine trips around the sun, surrounded by friends, family and the sound of his granddaughter laughing.
Ken was an accomplished musician and had many friends he played with over the years all over the state. He was an avid and skilled motorcyclist and trained Motor Cycle Safety Instructor. He enjoyed riding twisty back roads and finding the gravel long way around where ever he traveled.
Ken was a 1981 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He worked as a livestock inspector for the state and was a longtime employee of the USDA NRCS as a Soil Conservationist. Ken worked in many areas around West Virginia, most recently in Fayette, Raleigh and Wyoming counties and previously in Hardy, Kanawha and Pocahontas counties.
Ken is survived by his wife Melinda (Dolin Shipman) Haid, two sons with wife Sheila (Goldstein) Haid Wilson; Keegan and wife Kasie (Robb) Haid of Orlando and Tanner and Alexandra (Beaulieu) Haid and granddaughter Ariella Haid of Charles Town.
He enjoyed being outdoors more than anything indoors and would want his life to be celebrated and mourned under the sky instead of a roof. In keeping with his independent nature and the varied groups of friends throughout West Virginia and a few other states, please gather as you see fit and remember him in the way best suited to your relationship with him.
In keeping with Ken’s final wishes he was cremated.
