Floyd Ernest Seames, age 77 of Shockey Road, Old Fields, W.Va., passed away Sunday morning, January 22, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA with his family at his side. He was born on August 19, 1939 in Columbiaville, Mich. a son of the late Fred August Seames and Unice Wilson Seames. Floyd had retired from both G.T.E. and Frontier Communications. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a Lifetime member of the N.R.A. and a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church. He was especially fond of hunting, fishing and his “tractor”.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the “love of his life”, Peggy House-Evans Seames in September 2007, his brothers, Fred Seames, Earl Seames and Frank Seames and a sister, Mary Hamilton.
Surviving is a daughter, Laura and John Fazenbaker of Keyser, W.Va.; his grandson, Matthew and Corinna Baker of Grand Blanc, Mich., his companion, Joan Kuykendall of Petersburg, W.Va.; a brother, Howard Seames of Orlando, Fla.; a special brother and sister in law, George and Doris House of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; his favorite niece, Jennie Gosnell of Baltimore, Md. and his caretaker for the last year, Janie Myers.
Funeral Services were conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Howard officiating. Interment was private.
